Turkmenbashi International Seaport will increase oil export capacity
Turkmenbashi International Seaport will reconstruct two offshore bulk-oil piers of its Kenar terminal. An appropriate tender was published in the Turkmen press on September 9.
Oil-loading piers are necessary for the parking of tankers, the overflow of oil and its products into them. Modernization of the piers will increase the port capacity for the export of relevant products. The need for this is conditioned by increase in demand for Turkmen oil and gain in yield.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, over a period of January-July 2020, the “Turkmenneft” State Concern increased the level of oil production by 6.7% compared to the same period last year.
Turkmenistan is steadily increasing its oil exports. In January-August of the current year, the country exported 1.47 million tons of black gold to Russia, thus outrunning Azerbaijan and taking the second place in supplies of this energy carrier to the Russian Federation.
