Turkmenistan kept leadership in gas deliveries to the People’s Republic of China, despite decrease in August
Turkmenistan kept leadership in deliveries of pipeline gas to the People’s Republic of China, despite some decrease in volume of deliveries in August. As Finmarket News Agency reports, the data of Chinese customs service testify to it.
According to this data, deliveries of Turkmen gas decreased – by 3, 4 % – to 2,276 billion cubic m. Thus, the totally Chinese import of pipeline gas in August, 2020 made up to 3,853 billion cubic m.
Deliveries of pipeline gas to China in August of this year were lowered also by other suppliers, except “Gazprom”. Uzbekistan went downwards by 0, 7 %, Kazakhstan – by 1, 4 % and Myanmar – by 0, 2 %.
“Gazprom” deliveries to China in August reached 381 million cubic m that by 0, 75 % is more than for July (379 million cubic). It is the next maximum for the operating time of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. In September the stream was predictably reduced, as the gas pipeline stopped for a week’s preventive maintenance.
From the beginning of year as a whole import of pipeline gas to the Celestial Empire decreased by 9 % – to 29,530 billion cubic meters.
