Graduated from Pakistan Naval Academy with Bachelor’s Degree. Has Master’s Degree from HMS Pembroke, Kent, UK and Karachi University.

1973-1988 – Served in Pakistan Navy

1988-1997 – Freelance journalist, investigative reporter, weekly columnist for The Leader, The Star, Daily News (Karachi eveningers)

Since 1998 – Based in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) – initially as freelance journalist and op-ed contributor to several media (print and electronic) outlets worldwide, and correspondent for now- defunct Pakistan Press Network

In 2003 – Launched nCa (News Central Asia) and continues to serve as its founding editor Tariq Saeedi writes primarily in English language. His articles and reports are available on more than 63000 websites and have been translated into 21 languages, including Russian, Chinese, Korean, Italian, Spanish, Urdu, Hindi, Farsi, Turkish, French, German, and Arabic.

Tariq Saeedi is a Global Expert in the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, with Central Asia, Energy Politics, and Geopolitics as areas of expertise.

He is the author of the book ‘Turkmenistan: Architect of Energy Security Concepts and Mechanisms’ (2012).
