Richard has 35 years of international oil & gas sector experience, and is currently one of Gaffney, Cline & Associates’ (GCA’s) senior advisors. Client assignments focus on the provision of technical, commercial and strategic management advice along the full oil/gas/energy ‘value chain’, to national oil companies, governments/ministries, independent oil & gas companies and financial institutions. Richard’s core interests centre on GCA’s global consultancy activities in the mid- and downstream oil, gas and infrastructure sectors, where key responsibilities include energy market analysis, along with gas processing, refinery, petrochemical, pipeline and power techno-economic/strategic studies. Richard has a particular focus on the development of natural gas monetization strategies. Prior to joining GCA, Richard worked for ExxonMobil within the company's Energy Chemicals product group, where he was responsible for providing technical and marketing advice on process chemical additives for application in refineries and petrochemical facilities across Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. Richard was born in 1962 in Birmingham, England. He graduated from Loughborough University of Technology with a BSc. Honours degree in Chemical Engineering in 1984. He is married with a son and daughter.
