Muhammetgeldi Serdarov graduated from the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications, Transport Economy and Management Faculty in 2000 and received a degree in Engineering Economics. From 2000 to 2001, he held the position of an accountant, and then a chief accountant of the Ashgabat State Passenger Motor Transport Enterprise. From March 2001 to December 2004, he worked as an assistant to the Minister of Construction and Construction Materials Industry of Turkmenistan. From December 2004 to April 2005, he was Deputy Head of the Human Resources Department at the Ministry of Construction and Building Materials Industry of Turkmenistan. From April 2005 to May 2006, he was a Head of Taxation Service in one of the districts of Ahal velayat. From May 2006 to June 2007, he worked as the Head of Abadan City Taxation Service. From June 2007 to May 2008, he worked as a Construction Analysis and Development Department Specialist at the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan. From September 2008 to March 2013, he worked as the Head of Department at Ashgabat City Municipality. From March 2013 to April 2015, he held various positions in the Ministry of Construction of Turkmenistan. From April 2015 to October 2017, he headed the Ashgabat Main Department of Economy and Development and from October 2017 to August 2019 - the Ashgabat Main Department of Finance and Economy. From August 2019 to July 2020, he worked as Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan. In July 2020, he was appointed Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan. Mr. Muhammetgeldi Serdarov is the World Bank Governor, National Сoordinator of EU Technical Assistance to Turkmenistan, National Focal Point for Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program (CAREC).
