Ashgabat, 22–24 October 2025
The 30th Anniversary International Conference and Exhibition “Oil & Gas of Turkmenistan – OGT 2025” has concluded in Ashgabat, reaffirming Turkmenistan’s status as a leading centre for international energy dialogue and sustainable cooperation. Held under the motto “Energy. Innovation. Growth.”, this milestone edition gathered over 1,400 delegates from 70 countries, 100 exhibiting companies, and 80 speakers and moderators representing governments, national and international oil companies, financial institutions, and global technology leaders.
A Platform of Partnership and Progress
Organized by the State Concern “Turkmennebit”, the State Concern “Turkmengaz”, and the State Corporation “Turkmengeology” in collaboration with Turkmen Energy Forum, the jubilee forum combined an intensive three-day conference and an expanded international exhibition that showcased the nation’s flagship investment projects, technological achievements, and commitment to clean growth.
The Opening Plenary – “Commodities for the Energy Transition: New Horizons for Investment” brought together leading global figures, including H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer (Managing Director & CEO, DEWA / Chairman, ENOC Group), Dr. Daniel Yergin (Vice Chairman, S&P Global), Andrea Stegher (President, International Gas Union), Abdulvahit Fidan (Chairman & CEO, BOTAŞ, Türkiye), and Rovshan Najaf (President, SOCAR).
Unprecedented Scope and Content
The OGT 2025 EXPO featured more than 100 national and international companies – a 45 percent increase over 2024 – presenting advanced technologies in exploration, production, refining, digitalisation, and clean-energy innovation. Over 70 companies participated for the first time, underscoring growing investor confidence and the expanding openness of Turkmenistan’s market.
The conference programme included:
• UN-supported Pre-Conference Dialogue “Energy for Peace and Prosperity”, moderated by UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko, aligning national initiatives with SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy;
• Technical Conference, co-organised with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and S&P Global Commodity Insights (Platts), exploring methane-emission reduction, underground gas storage, CCUS and digitalisation;
• Two Fireside Chats on financing clean energy and investor perspectives, featuring senior representatives of ADB, EBRD, IsDB, and leading financial institutions;
• The Business Connect AI-powered B2B platform, which facilitated over 300 targeted business meetings among delegates, project owners, and investors.
Innovation and Clean Energy in Focus
The final day of the forum was devoted to “Hydrogen and Methane Reduction – Pathways to Net Zero”, bringing together Deputy Minister Nury Jumashov, UNECE Director Dario Liguti, and international experts from GIZ, Capterio, and Haldor Topsoe.
The discussions reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to decarbonisation, renewable technologies, and environmental stewardship.
Extensive Global Media Coverage
The 30th-anniversary edition achieved unprecedented worldwide visibility. Official media partners included Euronews, bne IntelliNews, News Base, Interfax, Energy Intelligence, and major Middle Eastern outlets such as Ain Al-Alam, Elghad, and Future News (Al-Mustaqbal).
A dedicated Euronews documentary and international broadcast campaign highlighted Turkmenistan’s energy transformation, while domestic and regional partners – Turkmenportal, Business Turkmenistan, and News Central Asia – provided live coverage, interviews, and daily reports from the exhibition floor. Through these outreach efforts, Turkmenistan further consolidated its image as a reliable partner linking the energy markets of Eurasia, the Middle East, and Asia.
A Legacy of Neutrality and Cooperation
The landmark 30th anniversary of OGT coincided with the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations’ recognition of Turkmenistan’s status of Permanent Neutrality.
Neutrality, stability, and an open-door investment climate have enabled Turkmenistan to implement a series of transformational projects:
• Development of the Galkynysh Gas Field, one of the largest onshore deposits in the world;
• Construction of the TAPI Pipeline Project (Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India);
• Exploration of offshore blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea;
• Expansion of gas-chemical and petrochemical industries that diversify exports and strengthen economic resilience.
Closing Ceremony and Outlook
The forum concluded with the OGT Awards Gala, honouring long-term partners and distinguished contributors to innovation and investment. In closing remarks, the Organising Committee expressed gratitude to all sponsors, exhibitors, and participants, announcing that planning for OGT 2026 is already underway – with expanded focus on the next phases of Galkynysh development, the TAPI pipeline project, and new frontiers in AI, hydrogen, and renewables.
“OGT 2025 has demonstrated that Turkmenistan’s energy story is one of progress, responsibility, and partnership. From Ashgabat, a message of trust and cooperation resonates across the region,” — Organising Committee Statement.
With its record attendance, high-level engagement, and tangible outcomes, OGT 2025 stands as a defining milestone in Turkmenistan’s modern energy diplomacy – linking innovation with sustainability and national success with global partnership.
