Mr. Hazli Sham has been with PETRONAS for more than 25 years where he served in various technical and leadership roles in the organization, both locally and internationally. These include portfolios in PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia Petroleum Management and stints in the United States of America and Indonesia. He was instrumental in key business results for the gas and power sector in Malaysia, oil and gas development projects in Indonesia and has served as a board member for several PETRONAS entities and subsidiaries. Mr. Hazli Sham has also received notable accolades which include the 2017 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Northern Asia Pacific Regional Service Award and was appointed as the Regional Coordinator for South and Southeast Asia by the International Gas Union (IGU) in 2018. He has also served as the President of the Malaysian Gas Association. Mr. Hazli Sham bin Kassim was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, International Assets, Upstream, effective 1 August 2021. He holds Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, USA and attended Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School in 2017.
