Head of Mission, Regional Hub Almaty Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group
Ibrahim Shoukry is the Head for the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Regional Hub Almaty. He was the Head of IsDB Regional Hub Indonesia in 2015-2020, overseeing the IsDB intervention in the region including public and private sector operations with over $2.4 billion of active portfolio. Formerly he was director at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), the private sector financing arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group leading the Financial Institutions Development in the organization and managing a $400 million portfolio diversified in equity investments in banks and Leasing finance companies in addition to Lines of Financing provided to support SMEs in ICD’s member countries. Prior to this, he was leading the direct financing and investment operations for over 3 years during which he concluded over $300 million worth of project finance, corporate finance and investments in the real sector in ICD member countries. Ibrahim Shoukry holds MBA in Banking and Finance from Maastricht School of Management, holds a certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, a current and former board member in a number of companies in different sectors and has over 26 years of experience in the banking, financing, and advisory related services. Prior to joining the Islamic Development Bank Group, he worked at KPMG Egypt as a senior manager heading the corporate finance and advisory functions for the country’s top Blue-chips in different sectors.
