Sohail Hasnie is committed to developing large scale projects involving cross-border transmission lines for energy trading, mass adoption off-grid solar power, energy efficiency, demand management and electric vehicles to mitigate the impact of climate change. He has been involved extensively in financing hydropower projects, transmission and distribution lines in about 12 countries in Asia. Before joining the Asian Development Bank in 2001, Sohail Hasnie was involved in the de-regulation, and privatization of the power and gas assets in Victoria, Australia. He also worked for the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Australia in system planning, strategic planning, pricing and load forecasting. Sohail Hasnie holds an MBA from the Melbourne Business School, an MS from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand and a BSc. Engineering from the Engineering University, Dhaka.
