Dyakonov Alexander Anatolyevich is the rector of the Almetyevsk State Petroleum Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, specialist in the field of mechanical engineering technology and material processing in highspeed and ultra-high-speed cutting. He graduated from the Chelyabinsk Polytechnic College, South Ural State University. From 2004 to 2020, he worked his way up from a research engineer at the Ural Research Institute of Abrasives and Grinding to a vice-rector for research at South Ural State University. On October 18, 2021 he was appointed rector of the Almetyevsk State Oil Institute. Headed by A.A. Dyakonov, the scientific school has been awarded two grants by the President of the Russian Federation, actively participates in the implementation of the Federal Target Program “Research and Development in Priority Areas of development of the Scientific and Technological complex of Russia for 2014-2020”, carries out projects under Resolution No. 218 “On measures of state support for the development of cooperation of Russian higher educational institutions and organizations implementing complex projects on the creation of high-tech production” and programs of other support funds. Dyakonov has published more than 240 scientific papers, including 8 monographs, 4 textbooks, 15 patents. Dyakonov is a member of the editorial boards of the journals: “STIN”, “Fundamental and applied Problems of Engineering and Technology”, “Bulletin of the Bryansk State Technical University”, “Russian engineering research”, “Procedural Engineering”. Dyakonov is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers – IEEE, USA, a member of the International Association of Engineers – IAENG, China. From 2016 to 2021, A.A. Dyakonov is a member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation for Mechanical Engineering.
