Miguel Barros Brito is a Low Carbon Electricity Analyst at S&P Global Platts based in Dubai, UAE. His most recent work has been on developing capacity outlooks for global solar PV and wind as well as modeling long-term power demand trends across key markets in EMEA. Before joining S&P Global Platts Miguel worked as an energy regulations executive for a solar energy developer in Dubai, where he was responsible for navigating renewable energy policies on target markets in Africa, Central Asia, Europe, and South America and conducting feasibility studies for new solar capacity. Miguel also worked for a data analytics firm based in New York reporting on policy developments in the North American energy sector. Prior to this, he worked on the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Europe and North Africa for a major utility based in Madrid. He holds a Masters from Columbia University (USA), specializing in energy policy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law & Economics from the University of Cambridge (UK).
