Mr. Ismadi Bin Ismail began his carrier journey with PETRONAS in 1997, bringing with him over 25 years of techno-commercial experience in various fields encompassing Engineering, Business Planning, Portfolio & Strategy, and Economics. Ismadi started his carrier in Peninsular Malaysia Operations, Kertih, as Allocation Engineer and Surveillance Engineer before venturing into Business Planning and Portfolio Management at Strategic Planning Department of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd. Among his other roles include the Head of Planning and Business Development for Mauritania operations, PETRONAS first deepwater asset; Head of Development and Operations of PETRONAS Unconventional Division to oversee Canada shale gas and Australia coal-bed methane assets; Head of Production Technology Specialized Studies to develop new technology, application, and replication, as well as Head of Petroleum Economics Department. He spent 6 years as the Head of Upstream Portfolio, where he designed and elevated the overall Upstream Portfolio Management by introducing Global Portfolio Valuation, Portfolio Optimization, Quality Portfolio Assessment, and Smart Portfolio Suite tools, while strengthening the Upstream investment decision process via Project Gate Review. Later in mid 2022, Ismadi moved to Malaysia Assets as General Manager (JV Malaysia – Sector 4), where he demonstrated a proactive role in driving the operators in charting the assets strategy and way forward. Apart from his career, he was also involved in Corporate Strategy Study in 2002. Ismadi holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, Colorado, United States of America.
