State Minister of Turkmenistan – Chairman of State Concern “Turkmengas”
Maksat Babayev graduated from Turkmen State Polytechnic Institute in 1996 with the qualification of a Mining Engineer. Between 1999 and 2005, held several positions at “Turkmengastransportation” Management of SC “Turkmengas” as a Capital Construction Department’s engineer, main expert, central controller senior traffic controller, and Deputy Head of Ashgabat Branch. In 2005 he was appointed the head of the Gas and Technical Service Department of “Oil and Gas Security” Management, then in 2009, the head of the Ashgabat Branch of “Turkmengassupply” Management of SC “Turkmengas”. Before being appointed as the Deputy Chairman of SC “Turkmengas” in 2012, he worked as the head of the “Turkmengastransportation” Management. From February to April 2017, he served as the State Minister of Turkmenistan – Chairman of SC “Turkmengas”. From 2017 to 2018, he served as the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for the oil & gas complex. From 2018 to 2022, worked in different positions at the Gyyanly Polymer Plant. From April 2022 to February 2023, worked as the Senior Scientific Expert of the Scientific-Research Institute of Natural Gas of SC “Turkmengas”. In February 2023, was appointed the Deputy Chairman of SC “Turkmengas”. In May 2023, was appointed as the State Minister of Turkmenistan – Chairman of SC “Turkmengas”.
