Topic:

Dr. Patrick Meyer is a specialist in energy policy and sustainable development in developing countries, with expertise in renewable energy, energy efficiency, water, biodiversity, and forestry. Currently, Dr. Meyer serves as the Energy Advisor for USAID's Central Asia Regional Mission in Kazakhstan where he oversees a $90 million energy portfolio. Before Kazakhstan, Dr. Meyer served in Bangladesh and Armenia. Prior to USAID, Dr. Meyer worked in the Department of State's Bureau of Energy Resources and has also undertaken a number of fellowship opportunities, including serving as an Embassy Science Fellow in Malaysia and Congressional Energy Policy Fellow in the Office of Congressman Jay Inslee. Dr. Meyer holds a PhD in Energy & Environmental Policy from the Joseph R. Biden School of Public Policy at the University of Delaware and a Master's and Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
