Andrew Morton is the Energy and Engineering Programme Manager at the UN Environment Programme's Post Conflict and Disaster Management Branch. With 27 years of experience, he specializes in renewable energy and sustainable development in challenging environments. He holds a master's in geological engineering and certificates in project management, geothermal energy, renewable energy finance, and hydropower technology. Fluent in English and French, Andrew has a background in the oil, gas, engineering consulting, and mining sectors, including work on environmental management for Shell Petroleum. At the UN, he has contributed to projects in Afghanistan, Haiti, Iraq, and other conflict-affected regions. Currently, he focuses on an off-grid renewable energy project in Haiti and improving the environmental and energy performance of UN peacekeepers globally.
