Associate Director, Carbon Limits AS
Irina Isakova is a director at Carbon Limits leading the company’s work on methane and flaring reduction in the oil and gas sector. She has been leading projects on GHG emissions and short-lived climate pollutants management in a variety of countries, spanning from the Arctic States to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iraq. Over the last 9 years, Irina has been working closely with national oil and gas companies (NOCs) to build their capacity on climate change issues and methane emissions in particular, to inventorize their emissions and develop plans for addressing those. Irina is currently leading the deployment of a methane inventory tool (Mist) in a number of NOCs and independent companies to help them quantify their methane emissions and develop sound mitigation plans. In addition, Irina is managing a number of projects aiming to reduce companies’ methane emissions through utilization of satellite and ground-based technologies and identifying cost-effective opportunities for their reduction.
