Dr Marat Terterov is an international energy leader with over 25 years of experience in energy policy, institutional development and global energy initiatives. He is Co-Founder of the Brussels Energy Club (BREC), an independent platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and international organisations to advance energy and climate dialogue. With nearly 20 years of policy and institutional experience in Brussels, Dr Terterov has convened more than 100 strategic roundtables and built extensive networks across European institutions, governments and the private sector. Previously, he spent over a decade with the Energy Charter Treaty Secretariat, where he led institutional engagement with member and observer countries and managed high-level communications and capacity-building programmes across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Dr Terterov holds a PhD in Middle Eastern Studies from Oxford University and is a Belgian and Australian national.
