Executive Director, Global Gas Centre (GGC).
Valérie Ducrot is the Executive Director of the Global Gas Centre (GGC), based in Geneva, Switzerland. Founded in December 2014 by major gas companies, the GGC brings together leading gas industry stakeholders. Its core aim is to encourage collective reflection on energy challenges and to highlight how the environmental and economic qualities of natural gas can make it a sustainable, global commodity in the low-carbon transition. The Centre’s program consists mainly of meetings and roundtables, sometimes organized with members or partners such as UNCTAD, UN ESCAP, ISETS, and EPRINC. Passionate about the links between energy and diplomacy, Valérie Ducrot focuses on geopolitics of natural resources, climate action, supply security, and international relations. From 2009 to 2014, she managed the UNECE Gas Centre, and earlier held several positions at the French energy company now known as ENGIE. With over 27 years of global experience in the energy sector, especially natural gas, she brings extensive expertise to her roles. She holds an MBA from EMLYON Business School and a degree in Business Administration (1995). In 2004, she earned a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Lyon.
