Chinese company plans $9 Billion gas-chemical project in Turkmenistan
In the four months of this year, the growth of the gross domestic product in Turkmenistan increased by 6.3 percent. Specifically, the growth rate in the industrial sector was 2.4 percent, in construction — 6.2 percent, in the transport and communications sector — 10.3 percent, in trade — 7.9 percent, in agriculture — 2.2 percent, and in the service sector — 8.4 percent.
Compared to the corresponding period of last year, the total volume of products manufactured in January — April of this year increased by 10.4 percent, and positive production results were achieved in the sectors of the economy. During the reporting period, retail trade turnover increased by 9.9 percent, and foreign trade turnover by 9.2 percent. According to the results of the past four months, the revenue part of the State budget was fulfilled by 100.2 percent, and the expenditure part by 97.6 percent. This was stated in the report of Vice-Premier Hojamyrat Geldimyradov on the macroeconomic indicators for the four months at the Government meeting held via a digital system on May 1.
Having heard the report, the Honorable President noted the importance of carrying out relevant work for the successful implementation of the tasks set for 2026 in the Program for Social and Economic Development of the country, and the consistent improvement of the activities of the economic, financial, and banking complex.
The Head of State instructed the Vice-Premier to continue maintaining the stable growth of the gross domestic product.
Addressing the members of the Government, the Honorable President said that the work carried out over the past four months showed good results, programs aimed at developing the country are being successfully implemented, reforms are being effectively conducted in all sectors of the economy, and production sectors are being consistently modernized.
The Head of State noted with satisfaction that during the reporting period, the growth of the gross domestic product has remained stable at 6.3 percent.
"It should be noted that the construction of large industrial facilities, new towns, residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, and other facilities continues in the country," the Honorable President said. Arkadagly Hero Serdar instructed to continue developing the sectors of economy in accordance with the adopted state programs and to always keep the execution of these works under strict control.
